Garden Waste Options in Norwich

Option 1: Compost Garden Waste on Site

Where a suitable composting area is available, grass cuttings, leaves, soft hedge clippings and other suitable plant material can remain in the garden and be composted on site.

This can reduce transport and disposal costs while returning useful organic matter to the garden. Composting is not suitable for every type of waste, invasive plants or diseased material, so I will assess what can reasonably be added.

If you do not already have a suitable composting area, I can also build a straightforward garden composter as a separately quoted Garden Odd Jobs project.

Best for: Gardens with a suitable existing composting area.

Cost: Normally no separate disposal charge when an existing composting area is used as part of the agreed gardening work.

Option 2: Use Your Garden-Waste Bin

If you have space in your subscribed garden-waste bin and would like me to use it, suitable loose grass cuttings, leaves, hedge trimmings and small twigs can be placed in it, subject to the collection scheme’s rules.

The bin must have enough capacity and its lid must close. Soil, turf, stones, plastic bags, old fencing, treated timber and general rubbish must not be placed in it.

Best for: Small amounts of suitable green waste from regular maintenance.

Cost: No additional waste-removal charge from me.

Option 3: Leave Waste in a Reusable Bulk Bag

Where removal is not required, suitable green waste can be left neatly in a reusable bulk bag for you to compost or dispose of over time.

The bag needs an agreed, accessible position where it will not block paths, vehicles, neighbours or collection crews.

Best for: Hedge clippings and other suitable green waste that can safely remain at the property.

Bag deposit: £5, refundable when the empty bag is returned in reusable condition.

Option 4: Green Waste Removal by Me

Where the on-site options are unsuitable, I can remove agreed green garden waste and normally take it to Greencomp Ltd, a local commercial green-waste facility.

The current minimum removal charge is £75. This covers the commercial disposal charge together with loading, handling and drop-off.

Larger quantities are quoted separately according to the approximate volume, weight, access and loading requirements. The applicable charge will be agreed before removal.

Best for: Green waste that cannot reasonably be composted or stored at the property.

Not included: Soil, rubble, old fencing, treated timber, hazardous material, invasive plants requiring controlled disposal or mixed general rubbish.

Option 5: Customer-Arranged Skip

Very large clearances or work involving soil, rubble, old fencing, treated timber or mixed waste may require a suitable skip or specialist waste contractor.

The customer arranges and pays the chosen provider directly, including confirming the accepted waste types, skip size, delivery position and any highway permit requirements.

Where agreed, I can load suitable material arising from my work into the customer’s authorised skip.

Best for: Larger quantities or materials not covered by my standard green-waste removal service.
