At Steve’s Garden Services, we take pride in disposing of garden waste legally and responsibly. Due to changes introduced by Norfolk County Council on 1 November 2024, our disposal pricing has been updated. This post explains what’s changed, why it matters, and how we continue to support eco-friendly gardening across Norwich and surrounding areas.
Licensed and Compliant Waste Carriers
We hold a registered Carrier, Broker, Dealer – Lower Tier Licence, which means:
- We’re authorised to transport and manage garden waste professionally
- All waste is taken to a registered disposal site
- We issue waste transfer notes for full traceability
Check our licence on the Environment Agency register
Why This Matters
Hiring a licensed service protects you from potential fines and ensures:
- Waste is not fly-tipped or mishandled
- The disposal process follows UK environmental regulations
- Your green waste is recycled or composted where possible
New Garden Waste Pricing (Effective 1 November 2024)
Due to updated council pricing and handling requirements, our waste disposal costs are:
- Half Load (under 50%): £73 + £25 handling = £98
- Full Load (over 50%): £146 + £25 handling = £171
This covers:
- Booking and time at authorised facilities
- Manual handling and transport costs
- Legal documentation (waste transfer notes)

Environmentally Responsible Practices
We aim to minimise landfill and maximise recycling:
- All green waste is separated and taken to authorised composting or recycling centres
- We avoid landfill wherever possible
- Waste handling complies with latest environmental standards
Your Legal Responsibility
If you hire a business to dispose of garden waste, you must ensure:
- They are licensed waste carriers
- You receive a waste transfer note
- The waste is taken to a legal, licensed facility
By working with us, you’re covered.

Alternatives for High-Volume Waste
For larger-scale waste or regular collections, other options may be worth exploring:
- Trade waste collection services via local district councils
- On-site skips or green waste bins
- Shared collection plans with neighbours
