Garden Waste Options

Brown garden waste bin with green waste on patio in suburban backyard lawn.

Option 1: Use Your Brown Bin (Recommended)

Best for: Small-to-medium waste from regular maintenance, hedge trimming, or grass cutting.
Cost: Free — it’s your existing bin.

Option 2: Bulk Bag by the Bin (Small-to-Medium Amounts)

If it’s too much for one bin, but not enough to justify a half or full van load, I can leave the waste in a bulk bag by your bin for you to transfer over the next collections (typically fortnightly).

£5 refundable deposit for the bag — the deposit is returned when the bag is emptied and handed back.

Best for: Hedge clippings or light clearances where you don’t want a full removal charge.
Note: This option depends on safe access and somewhere sensible to leave the bag.

Option 3: Waste Removal by Me (Priced Separately)

If you’d rather not deal with it, I can remove and dispose of garden waste legally and responsibly. Pricing depends on volume.

Current disposal pricing (subject to change based on current disposal costs):

  • Half load (under 50%): £98
  • Full load (over 50%): £171

These prices cover council charges, handling, and the time involved.
Best for: Large clearances, garden makeovers, or when you simply don’t want the waste left on site.

Option 4: Skip Hire (For Very Large Clearances)

For massive garden makeovers or renovations where a van load isn’t enough, a skip might be the best solution.
We can arrange it for you: We’ll source the best local rate and have it delivered to your property. The cost varies depending on size and permits, and we’ll pass the invoice to you.
Or you can arrange it yourself: If you prefer, you can hire your own skip. Some customers take the waste to the local tip for free (subject to council rules for green waste).
Best for: Major clearances, house moves, or when you have more waste than a van can carry.

A Note on Composting (For Larger Gardens):

Some customers with larger gardens already have composting areas — or prefer to keep green waste on site where it makes sense.
If that’s an option for you, I’m happy to use existing composting areas or advise on setting one up as part of the work. It’s not suitable for every garden, but for the right setup it can be a good long-term solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about recycling? Here are the most common ones we get from Norwich homeowners.

Do you always remove waste?
No — most customers use the brown bin. Removal is optional and charged separately.
What if my brown bin is already full?
Tell me upfront and we’ll choose the simplest option: bulk-bag-by-the-bin, leave it neatly bagged for you, or removal.
How does the £5 bag deposit work?
You pay it when I leave the bag. When it’s emptied and returned, I refund it.
Are you a licensed waste carrier?
Yes — I’m registered as a lower-tier waste carrier (Registration: CBDL405301). You can verify my registration on the government register. All waste is disposed of legally and responsibly — no fly-tipping, ever.
